Our Story

Our roots stretch much deeper than just Amore Pasta. Our father and mother were born in Italy, and immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s. Working in various restaurants to make ends meet, a strong entrepreneurial spirit developed between them. After years of hard work and determination, our first family restaurant “Galileo” opened on Whyte Avenue, Edmonton, in 1986. Soon after, we opened two more restaurants in Penticton, B.C; ‘Nicolas’ and ‘Scampi’s Bistro’. Through a decade of growing, developing, and learning, we decided to centralize with our family here in Edmonton in 2006 after our mother fell ill. Family is, and always will be, the most important thing to us.

After our mother’s passing, we decided to open Café Amore Bistro in the heart of Edmonton. This was the beginning of a family of restaurants to be opened over the next 11 years. In 2013, we moved the original Cafe Amore Bistro to a new location. In 2015 we opened Black Pearl Seafood Bar. In 2016 we continued to build the Amore brand by opening our first AMORE PASTA location. This was the first concept in Edmonton that allowed the customer to be in complete control of their dish. With fresh pasta, locally grown vegetables, ethically raised meats, secret Amore sauces, and imported cheeses, our customers can see exactly how their custom pasta dish is constructed – right before their eyes. It is an incredible experience to enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of your very own pasta creation, and it works.

Continuing to build our dream, in 2018 we added our Downtown Edmonton Amore Pasta location in the MNP Tower, as well as Papa Giuseppe Kitchen and Catering. Most recently, in 2020 we opened our Amore Pasta Northside location, and now we are looking to expand across Canada and the USA. Meet Our Team

Nick Crudo

CEO AND CO-FOUNDER

Nick is in charge of all daily operations, build outs, contractors and negotiating leases. He’s always developing new food concepts from conceptualization to inception. His knowledge of tastes and flavours, high-quality ingredients, and maintaining the family’s taste is key to the Amore brand. His vision for the AMORE group is a significant contributor to our success.

Melissa Crudo

COO (Chief Operations Officer)

Melissa oversees our human resources and training systems. Not only does she bring her experience and knowledge in Human Resources management. she also structures our social media platform and conducts frequent inspections to assure pricing, specials and board changes are resolved in a timely manner.
